Feminine hygiene ads are they needed?

I'm going to rant just for a minute here. I went to watch an episode of the Fringe and as HULU always does it lets me know who's ads I can enjoy a few times during my show. No big deal. Bertolli, Saturn what ever the ads have been they have been tolerable. UNTIL NOW. MONISTAT, was going to be sponsoring my viewing for the next hour.... No way .... not today.... One of the main driving factors of why I got rid of mainstream TV was because of the feminine hygiene ads. I hated watching Die Hard or some other show where muscle men are shooting each other and blowing stuff up then in-between explosions I see ladies running through meadows talking about how fresh they feel... Aghhhhhhh.

Luckily with Hulu if I change to another show then change back it is a different advertiser. Which I will do going forward from now on!

The Dreamscape

This one is way cool. Little bloody but I think that is what this show will be going forward because he is a Dr. that experimented and will continue to experiment human and push the bounds of fringe science.

One thing that was really bothering me though is being a computer guy there is no way that her computer could act up that way and change to the screens it did because of the thought of another. I know this is science fiction but really get some computer experts involved to make it look real. Please.....

The Equation

I like this one.

Reminds me of some movie back in the 80's where technology was used to cause people to loose time.

It also looks like we are finding more players involved in the pattern and what they are doing.

In Which We Meet Mr. Jones

I'm not one into blood and this one made me squirm. It did remind me of when the medical channel first came on cable and my Mom and I watch people have different organs repaired or removed. You didn't see the blood just the hours of actually working inside the body cavity or on the eyeball itself. Good times..

Didn't realize I was this much of a ghoul. I'll have to think on that.

Side Note: people that are on screen are important. I was disappointed that I figured out the end with about 4 minutes left.

Any everyone remember Dr. Bishop is correct in the fact that fresh breath is very important.

Please meet Rick Pope

I love how she always gets the names wrong on these shows. I'll clip and add more.

Fringe number 6 - The Cure

Warning - If you have a dislike for messy bloody scenes you might want to skip this one. Not my favorite. I could see this happening with our drug industry though. Very creepy.

Sanctuary

Very interesting premiss for the show. All monsters need to be saved, the good and the bad. Even the ones from weird nuclear radiation leaks. Let me know if you like this one.

Fringe number 5 - Power Hungry

Many people thought this was an episode about me "Commander Power" no, but alas I may have to contend with this person for name infringement. I hope it doesn't come to that.

If anyone going to answer a self help add about self-esteem improvement, remember thy don't need to perform brain altering surgery for that to happen.

Fringe number 4 - The Arrival

Don't think aliens are watching? This one will make you think otherwise. The very cool thing is that I have gone back and watched a few others and have noticed the "observer" in other parts of the episodes.

Another cool thing about HULU: Chuck Season 2 Episode 1

This show has a network air date of September 29th 2008. I watched this first episode on Tuesday for the first time. How you may ask. Did Mr. Interned deliver a bootleg copy of the episode via torrent? No... Did my producer friends at NBC ask my opinion before showing it to the masses? No... It was HULU once again. They had the show on HULU for a 5 day preview before the original air date.

I'm very curious to see their response to previewing the show on the web before the regular station broadcast. I think it is a great idea. Enjoy the show.

Fringe number 3

Voices in your head? This episode may explain why. Much less blood than the last episode.

Fringe number 2

Those with weak stomachs be aware of this one. I can't tolerate gore and this one has some blood and body part dissection. I'm getting the creepy crawlies on my skin just thinking about the scene.

But over all enjoy. The also start to talk about the fact that I picked up on in the Pilot. Peter, the son of Dr. Bishop, is artificially created or genetically enhanced in some way. I'm excited to see how.

Warning - Do not eat any food with spaghetti sauce before during or closely after this show.

During the Pilot of the fringe they had different images display before going to commercial.

The odd part is that this butter fly looks very translucent similar to the effects of the disease that is released on the show.

The leaf has an equilateral triangle.

Six fingers on a hand is just creepy to start with, although is does pay a nice homage to the Princess Bride.

This apple looked normal first time I saw it but the Seeds in the center are human embryos.

For those that are unaware the symbol on the frogs back is the Phi symbol.

Fringe is going to ROCK

If you have not seen Fringe, please take the 1 hour 21 minutes and 41 seconds to watch, it is well worth it. The images before the commercial brakes are especially cool. I'll be posting them with my comments later. This show is going fill the void the Mulder and Scully left.

Whoooohoooo I love shows like this.

Hulu just got better

I didn't notice the subscription feature on Hulu before.  Now after a week I can't live with out it.  I just created an account to login to Hulu and now I can subscribe to my favorite shows and just check my queue.  Not a break through concept but I really like it.  Now I don't even care about the original  broadcast date, I check the queue to see if the new shows are online... Sweet...

HULU is the my favorite

If you have not found the "Power" of Hulu at www.hulu.com you need to check it out.  It is interesting how I started using it.  I work for a division of the larger parent company of Hulu which has two letters, and is the largest company in the world.  Think light bulbs.  I can't put the name because of disclosures but they own NBC Universal which started up Hulu.   I remember hearing about all these great shows being taken off iTunes because the contract expired and many people talking about creating their own TV and Movie online distribution channel.  Well they did it with Hulu.  I got an e-mail at work asking if I would like to take part in a beta of a website that streams online content.  I signed up and have been hooked eversense.  The format is clean and crisp and it has lots and lots of TV shows and movies.

If you have the means.  I highly recommend picking one up .

Online Shows

I love the fact that most shows I want to watch on TV are streaming on the web.  We are an online only house, no Cable or Direct TV.  Just go directly to the stations site and you can stream most of the shows you want.

Best of all advertising for feminine hygiene products are not part of the online advertising yet.  I hated watching a show on Sunday night where tampons and maxi-pads dance across the screen.  It made me think I should not be watching this show because they were directly targeting women, yet the Sunday night movie was Die Hard with Bruce Willis.   Go figure.
